Almost 50 years after it's original issue, Vogue Italy, the most daring fashion magazine in the world, whose photographers are said to express more than fashion, but rather art and ideas, and which has effectively written history with its July 2008 Black issue, has set to make another statementt: its first ever cover featuring an Asian model. The honour went to Fei Fei Sun, a Chinese model who's previously starred in campaigns for Diesel and Calvin Klein, as well as gracing the covers of Vogue and Elle China.
As Vogue Italy editor-in-chief and UN Goodwill Ambassador Francesca Sozzani explains to WWD, “In the images, Fei Fei perfectly embodies a timeless idea of an extremely chic, beautiful woman. In this world, beauty is king and it’s something that brings people together with no national and racial limits.” I'd raise my drink to that thought and end this story here, with only the beautiful pictures of Fei Fei to guide you in reflecting on the idea of a world with no inequalities.
